Before opening a package of Yeonyanggaeng, the first thing that comes to mind is how much the price has increased over the years. 
It's hard not to notice that the portion size feels smaller as the price goes up, which can be a bit disappointing. 
Yet, despite these changes, I find myself coming back to Yeonyanggaeng-it's one of those irresistible snacks you just can't forget. 
Even when I've tried handmade versions of similar treats, I often catch myself thinking, 
"This doesn't compare to Haitai's Yeonyanggaeng." Its unique, nostalgic flavor is simply unmatched. 
While the smaller size these days leaves me wanting more, the consistent quality makes it worth the indulgence. 
The gold foil packaging is a signature feature of Yeonyanggaeng, but opening it can be a bit tricky. 
I always try to savor every last bite, but peeling the wrapper cleanly is not as easy as it looks! 
And if you eat it with your hands, don't forget that it can leave your fingers slightly sticky, so washing up afterward is a must. 
Yeonyanggaeng is characterized by its dense texture and the rich sweetness of red bean paste. 
After finishing one, the lingering sweetness feels as satisfying as a bite of chocolate. 
While there are many variations like chestnut or sweet potato flavors, I always find myself coming back to the classic red bean version-it's simply the best.
